Prairie Spirit Rail Trail

The Trail was constructed as one of the first north-south rail lines in Kansas in the early 1860s. It is one of three major railbanked corridors in Kansas and the only corridor managed by the State of Kansas. The Prairie Spirit Rail Trail travels from Ottawa to Iola and is 50 miles in length.

Lake Garnett

Constructed by Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, Lake Garnett has a surface area of over 55 acres.

A unique recreation area unrivaled by other towns of comparable size.

Cedar Valley Reservoir

3.5 miles west of Garnett, offers a recreational experience of rugged beauty. This new reservoir is a skiing, fishing, and camping area of exceptional appeal that also ensures the future of the city's water supply.

Crystal Lake

Just south of Garnett, offers a quiet, shady park, complete with ducks and geese for feeding. It is excellent for fishing in all seasons, and for picnics, bird watching, stargazing and daydreaming.
