Plymouth Stone Schoolhouse

Located on the Fort Hays State University campus is the Plymouth Stone Schoolhouse. Situated on the banks of Big Creek, this authentic, one-room schoolhouse, built of limestone in 1874, has been restored and furnished with school antiques and textbooks. It serves as a reminder to all of us of where our education roots began and shows us how important education was to the pioneers of our area.

You may also see the 20 minute video production, "Education: Our Heritage on the Great Plains." The time required to enjoy the building and show is 45 minutes.

Visits are arranged by appointment only. Welcome!
