Dyck Arboretum of the Plains
The Dyck Arboretum of the Plains is and outdoor education facility with a unique mission--"to foster an appreciation of the natural beauty of Kansas." This one-of-a-kind purpose is carried out through gardens, displays, and landscape plantings within the Arboretum and through an active educational program.
Special horticultural collections are being developed emphasizing native or unfertilized non-native plants. These special collections presently include pines, oaks, viburnums, and lilacs. A dwarf shrub display features species and varieties that are suited to today's smaller home landscapes. Other collections include a Kansas wildflower exhibit, a bird watching area, native turfgrasses, and a lake and island garden.
