Frontier Army Museum
Depicts the Frontier Army (1817-1917) and history of Fort Leavenworth (1827-present). One of the largest collections of military carriages on exhibit; one of the first airplanes used by the Army--a JN-4D "Jenny"; carriage used by Abraham Lincoln in 1859; and the history of the Frontier Army in the West.
The museum is open from 9a.m. to 4p.m. Monday - Friday
10a.m. to 4p.m. Saturday
noon - 4p.m. Sunday and federal holidays
It is closed on New Year's day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
