Elk City Lake

Opportunities for recreation at Elk City Lake include swimming, boating, water skiing, camping, picnicking, sightseeing, hunting, fishing, hiking, and loafing. Food, bait, tackle, and medical facilities, etc. are available near the lake.

Riverside Park/Ralph Mitchell Zoo

This 124-acre showcase comes complete with facilities and equipment for the joy and entertainment of young and old alike. The park and zoo are located in Independence.

Safari Paradise

Located east of Caney, the Safari Paradise is home to lions, tigers and bears and even a Bengal tiger, jaguars, black leopards, cougars and bob cats. Other animals include a bush baby, monkeys, llamas, and many varieties of birds. All tours are private which allows close contact with many of the animals.
