Smoky Hill Museum
Located in downtown Salina, the Smoky Hill Museum is housed in a US Post Office facility, circa 1937. The collection began in 1879 by two of the town founders, William A. Phillips and Alexander M. Campbell. It still grows today and contains well over 10,000 items. Permanent
and temporary exhibits featuring a sod dugout and general
store offer both children and adults a fun opportunity to learn
area heritage and history. Children's offerings include tours, interactive activities and classroom presentations.
The museum is also host to an antique car show during Santa Fe Days in September; and an annual poinsettia sale during the holiday season.
See the Daily Post on the main menu for current exhibit information.
