Geographic Center of the U.S.
Located on mile north and one mile west of Lebanon, Kansas in Smith County.
This is the Center of the U.S.A., as determined by the government geodetic survey in 1898. It is the crossroads of the nation, proper, on US-281 highway.
Built around it is Center park, a place for the public to stop, relax and picnic.
The registration book revealed signatures from every state and most of the countries in the world. With the addition of Alaska and Hawaii, it is now the center of the contiguous states.
