Welcome to Seattle’s own Row House Cafe. We are located in South Lake Union near the waterfront. Row House Cafe has a unique history behind it, dating back to the turn of the century. What is now the Cafe was home to the original housing for the shipbuilding workforce in the early 1900s. South Lake Union was a central hub for the early maritime development of the city. We pride ourselves being a hidden gem in the heart of the SLU development. Row House Cafe caters to the South Lake Union Arts Council and hosts many local live musicians. We also offer our entire cafe space to host your private party or event. We’re looking at you Amazon! Row House’s menu are hyper focused on delivering artisanal cocktails from the best scotch, gin, rum, vodka, brandy, cognac, tequila and a handful of others. Sam Crannell’s experience in cookery of all trades spans 10+ years. He is an innovator and creator. Crannell utilizes his own culinary inspirations and shares them to diners under the roof of Lloyd Martin. Chef Sam’s reason behind his restaurant opening is to curate ideas and have “free range” to cook on his own ideals.
The menu rotation model is spur of the moment. What is consistent is the fresh and ready availability that comes with only using ingredients in season. While fall months will be more consistent, the spring and summer months bear a rainbow of produce varieties that allow for more additions to the menu. Chef Sam notes that while there are root cooking techniques, the style of “New” or “Modern American” entails utilizing global products. That way there is no limitation on creation.

Shingletown is located on Market Street in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood. We have incorporated elements of Ballard’s past into our décor and atmosphere. Our tables feature repurposed saw blades and our walls are adorned with authentic shingles and highlight logos from the old Ballard mills that used to occupy the area. Our food and drink menus focus on Pacific Northwest ingredients and purveyors. Our chef uses seasonal ingredients to keep all of our dishes fresh and locally sourced. The drink menu features beers and wines from all over the Northwest as well as cocktails inspired by local flavors.
