Event Details

Ride the trolley around town to look at the beautiful Christmas lights, hear stories of local and national Christmas Traditions, the ride lasts about an hour. You may pay ahead to reserve your seat, to make sure you get on at the time you want.


2 runs per night at 6pm & 7pm.

ABILENE – The Arts Council of Dickinson County presents the 6th Annual Ladies’ Holiday Brunch on Saturday, December 14th at 10:00 a.m. at the Eisenhower Presidential Library Courtyard.  Come and join us for a scrumptious brunch and celebrate the season with a concert featuring many delightful holiday favorites performed by Willa Danner, Denise Blehm and Judy Weber.  And, to add to the fun, there will also be door prizes given away by drawing.  Tickets can be purchased at the Arts Council of Dickinson County, 203 N. Cedar, 263-1884.  Advance tickets only.

Willa Danner, our featured vocalist, grew up in a musically talented family.  She started singing at a very early age and traveled and sang with her brother and sister.  She also had the opportunity to study privately with a voice instructor for several years.  Willa is the founding member of the Celebration Quartet and has performed for many years with the Quartet and as a soloist at many churches, weddings and other events.

Violinist Denise Blehm, originally from Salina, has lived in Abilene for 8 years.  She attended Wichita State University and was a member of the Wichita Symphony for 13 years.   Currently, Denise is a private violin instructor in Abilene and Salina, the Concertmaster of the Salina Symphony and frequently performs in the Abilene and Salina area as a soloist and in a variety of ensembles.

The Ladies’ Holiday Brunch is presented in partnership with the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum in joint mission to promote the arts in Dickinson County.

The Arts Council of Dickinson County is a non-profit organization supported by its members and dedicated to promoting the arts among families in Dickinson County.

To celebrate the Christmas Season, the Wamego Chamber of Commerce sponsors the annual Christmas Parade at 6pm the Saturday after Thanksgiving each year, featuring the arrival of Santa Claus, as well as a Holiday Open House in charming downtown Wamego. After the lighted parade, the highlight of the evening is the illumination of City Park folowed by visits with Santa Claus in the Wamego Historical Museum school house.
