Held the second weekend in February, this event has been a major part of Wickenburg's activities for over 52 years. 30,000 to 40,000 people converge on the town to enjoy a wide variety of entertainment, as well as an arts and crafts show that can satisfy anyone's need to shop.

25 - 29AZ0608042e002 - Wickenburg Annual Desert Caballeros Horse Ride - The folks who live in Wickenburg are proud that the town is widely known as "the West's Most Western Town." One of the events that Wickenburg is famous for is the annual Desert Caballeros Ride.

A caballero (pronounced "cab-ee-air-owe") is a cowboy. The Desert Caballeros is a group of about 240 men from all over the country, Canada, and overseas, who gather annually for this ride. The first ride was in 1947, the year that the old Wickenburg Rodeo closed down. The riders have gathered annually since then for this 100-mile round-trip ride into the Weaver and Bradshaw mountains northeast of Wickenburg.

5 Annual Fly In and Classic Car Show - Held the second Saturday in October, this event features airplanes from all over the southwest flying into Wickenburg to participate. Pilots will be available to describe their aircraft throughout the day. The Classy Classic Car Club will display dozens of classic automobiles for spectators to view and learn from car owners. 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

12 Wickenburg Oktoberfest - Welcome to Oktoberfest! Sample beers from Arizona's best breweries and enjoy tasty treats from German savory food trucks. 13 Spirit of the Vulture Halloween BBQ - Enjoy a special Halloween treat at the Vulture Gold Mine Sunday, October 31, 3 -8 p.m. The event is hosted by the Vulture Mine Preservation and Restoration Association.

The excitement begins at 3 p.m. with a guided tour of Henry Wickenburg's 1863 Gold Mine, followed at 4 p.m. by stories from AZ's Historian Marshall Trimble and AZ's Unofficial Liar Jim Cook. After an old-fashioned western style BBQ dinner at 5 p.m., Phoenix area paranormal research groups will share stories of spooky encounters at the mine. A silent auction and raffle will end the evening.

Reservations are required. Cost is $45 in advance or $50 cash at the door. Tickets can be pre-purchased with a credit card at our website: savevulturemine.org. Or mail a check to VMPRA, PO Box 1863, Wickenburg, AZ 85390. Cash only at the door.

Vulture Mine Preservation and Restoration Association is an AZ non-profit corporation, IRS 501(c) 3 status pending, whose mission is to purchase and restore the Vulture Gold Mine and adjoining Vulture City to preserve, interpret and share the mine's legacy and its importance to the development of Wickenburg and the Western United States.

Mark your calendar and invite all of your friends for what's sure to be a fun and entertaining day. You and your guests can enjoy a self guided tour of 5 beautiful desert gardens including two luxury home interiors.

The homes are located in the Wickenburg neighborhoods of Wickenburg Ranch, Saddle Ridge and Matthie Ranch. Each unique garden will host a fabulous, local boutique offering new and vintage western fashion, pottery, jewelry, museum gifts, and plants. 9 am - 4 pm.
