St. Augustine’s College Chapel

Built in 1895, the chapel is home to the bishop’s chair, a memorial to the Right Reverend Henry Beard Delany. He was the first suffragan elected in the Diocese of North Carolina and the second African American bishop of the Episcopal Church and the first person to graduate from St. Augustine’s, who later became a bishop.
