The Dennison Depot, located 100 miles from Columbus and 100 miles from Pittsburgh, it is a site chosen specifically by the railroad because a steam engine could only travel 100 miles before it had to take on coal and water.

A true railroad town from the start, Dennison quickly developed one of the largest and most impressive railroad yards in the country. But, the Dennison Depot is most famous for its role during WWII. The Railway Yard at Dennison was located on the Strategic Corridor for National Defense going east west, that was vital in the movement of troops during WWII.

From 1942 to 1946, over 1.3 million servicemen and women were served free food and coffee from nearly 4,000 volunteers. Operated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the effort quickly earned Dennison the name "Dreamsville, Ohio". Today the 1873 Depot, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is a proud symbol of the nations? proud railroading and WWII heritage.
