The Seattle Space Needle

Those who have never been to Seattle will undoubtedly identify the Seattle Space Needle as the most notable piece of architecture in the city. And, certainly, it is a place that you should make every effort to visit if you are going to be in the area. The world-famous structure was originally built for the 1962 World’s Fair, but countless people still visit the site every day, over 40 years after its construction. In under a minute, an elevator will take you over 500 feet in the air, where you can stand on the observation deck and observe the city below. For special occasions, you can also sample the food in the famous revolving restaurant. The Seattle Public Library, although nowhere near as famous as the Space Needle, should also be a stop when you visit the city. Designed by a famous Dutch architect, its unique steel and glass construction must be seen firsthand to be truly appreciated.
