22 Heritage Day and Wood Kiln Opening - Entertainment: Live Music all day Pottery: Wood and electric fired items from Bolick, Traditions, Ina Bolick and Roger Hicks. Demonstrations by artisans.
Other Artists: Handmade chairs and spinning wheels, wooden bowls and spoons, baskets, quilts, iron work, wood carvings, and Indian beadwork.

4 Fireworks Extravaganza - Celebrate the 4th of July at Tweetsie Railroad. Special hours-Park open till 9pm, fireworks will begin at 9:30. Enjoy the most spectacular fireworks show in the High Country! It's one of the most popular summer events in the mountains.

Spend the day at Tweetsie Railroad. The Park is open from 10 am to 9 pm on the Fourth.
There is NO charge for parking.

16 - 1 Mountain Music Jammin' - This event is hosted every Sunday in summer, by Glenn Bolick, 1998 recipient of the Brown-Hudson Folklore Award. It features traditional mountain music, bluegrass, and gospel. It is open jam, so bring your instrument and join in, or just relax in the shade and enjoy. Cloggers welcome! A light snack will be served. Free admission.

19 Blowing Rock Tour of Homes - Blowing Rock Tour of Homes includes entrance to several beautiful Blowing Rock homes. Transportation will be provided. Walking to the homes will be an option for guests. The tour begins at 9:00, the last tickets will be sold at 3:00, and the houses close at 5:00. The Annual Tour of Homes is the primary fundraising project of the church. 100% of the profit from the tour is donated to charitable organizations in Blowing Rock and Boone. In 2017, $55,000 was distributed.

BLOWING ROCK TOUR OF HOMES TOUR INFORMATION - Refunds or exchanges are not available. Patrons are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. The historic homes in some cases do not have air conditioning. The opportunity to walk between several of the homes will be available. The homes are not handicapped accessible.Well supervised children six years and older are welcome. A ticket must be purchased for each child. Strollers are not allowed. Cars or other motorized wheels are not allowed at the homes or in the gardens. Food and/or beverages are not allowed in the homes. Water will be available for patrons outside of each home. Photographs may not be taken inside or outside the homes. Dogs are not allowed. No public restrooms are available at the homes. Restrooms are available at St. Mary's, Blowing Rock Park, and BRAHM.Tickets purchased before the Tour (before 5:00 P.M. on Thursday) are $30 each. On the day of the Tour tickets are $35. If you purchase tickets online your hard copy ticket will be available at "Will Call" at St. Mary's on the day of the Tour. The Opening Doors Cafe will once again provide a delicious lunch at the church for $15. This includes entree, bread, dessert, and beverage. A limited number of meals are available. Tickets may be purchased the day of the Tour.

13 - 19 Tweetsie Ghost Train Halloween Festival - It's safe, scary fun for the whole family! Visit the Haunted House or Freaky Forest, 3-D Maze, the Black Hole, rides, Halloween shows and Trick-or-Treating. Take a chilling journey into the night on the Ghost Train - if you dare! 2 - 3 Thanksgiving Wood Kiln Opening - A long-time favorite of visitors to the High Country, Traditions Pottery is owned and run by a family related to the Seagrove potters. Visitors are invited to view the artistry of these Appalachian craftsmen. Be present at 9:00 a.m. to watch potters unload the wood kiln. Find face jugs such as Santas, wizards and cry babies, Rebekah pitchers, candlesticks, sculpted chickens, and other traditional wares. Plenty of Christmas RED pottery will also be available. Food will be served. Free admission.
Enjoy "old time mountain music."
