Taylor, Arizona

Taylor is in Eastern Arizona in Navajo County on the banks of Silver Creek. It sits in a broad, flat valley with the Mogollon Rim and White Mountains to the south and west. The town is located on State Highway 77 south of Holbrook and just a few miles south of Snowflake. Taylor is 189 miles from Phoenix and 208 miles from Tucson.

Taylor is called the “Hub” of the White Mountains because it is centrally located from some of the greatest outdoor activities in the state. Today Taylor’s population is 2,710. The town sits at an elevation of 5,640 feet. The climate is cool all year with a winter low temperature of 16 degrees and a summer high temperature of 89 degrees. Taylor has a unique climate compared to other mountain towns. The mountains form a barrier, which protect Taylor from very severe winters and creates a semi-arid climate. Taylor may be small, but there is more here than what meets the eye.

Taylor Pioneer Museum

The Taylor Pioneer Museum was opened July 5, 1996, in a Pioneer Home built in 1930 by volunteers. A highlight piece of the museum is the drum seen in the Taylor town logo. The Fourth of July has a special meaning in Taylor, in addition to being the date recognized as our nation'
