This year the Festival has joined with the Kansas Museum of Military History (KMMH) to expand the festivities through Saturday with a Military oriented parade and open house at the Museum. The KMMH will also have Jet simulators at the Festival and for a fee you can see if the spirit of a Top-Gun pilot flows through your veins. The contest will finish Saturday at the KMMH facility with great prizes to the winners. See you there for fun, games, and food. There will be a childrens' area at both events. 10 a.m. - 9 p.m..The name and theme come from a time in Augusta's past when the town almost died after a plague of grasshoppers chewed every tree, shrub, crop and even the clothes on the line.
