12 - 13 Relay For Life - While the American Cancer Society is making progress toward a world without cancer, only with your dedication and fundraising efforts can we finish the fight against the disease.

With your help, we aren't just fighting one type of cancer we're fighting for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. Each person who shares the Relay For Life experience can take pride in knowing that they are working to create a world where this disease will no longer threaten our loved ones or rob anyone of another birthday.

Make sure your team members and donors understand how important their contributions are by sharing how their support is making a difference:

Opening Ceremony: 6:00 PM

The Opening Ceremony brings everyone together for a high-energy event kickoff that celebrates the lives of those who have battled cancer and reminds us all that while we are winning this battle, fighting cancer is a year-round priority.

Survivors Lap: 6:30 PM

Cancer survivors take the first lap around the track. Cheered on by the other participants and the sound of upbeat music, the Survivors Lap lets all cancer survivors at the event celebrate their victory over cancer.

Caregivers Lap: 6:45 PM

During the Caregivers Lap, anyone who ever cared for someone with cancer walks a special lap so they can be honored. Caregivers can walk this lap with the person they helped if they are also present.

Luminaria Ceremony: 10:00 PM

At the candlelight Luminaria Ceremony we remember loved ones lost to cancer, support people who currently have cancer, and honor people who fought cancer in the past. It's a powerful part of the event because it provides an opportunity for people to work through grief and find hope.

Closing Ceremony: 11:45 PM

The Closing Ceremony celebrates what we all just accomplished together. It's also a time to remember the lives of those lost, and to commit to continuing the fight against this disease over the next year.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life movement symbolizes hope and our shared goal to end a disease that threatens the lives of so many people we love. If cancer has touched your life, participating in a Relay For Life event is a way to take action and help finish the fight. This is your opportunity to honor cancer survivors, remember those you have lost, and raise funds and awareness to fight back and help end cancer forever.

November

2 - 15 Christmas at the Belvidere - Claremore's Victorian Mansion is decorated in full for the holidays. Guests can enjoy touring the mansion, shopping in the gift shop and the extended holiday collections of special items for the special someone. Enjoy lunch at the Tea Room in the mansion and stay to hear some of the fabulous ghost stories.

Christmas at the Belvidere is an attraction that draws visitors from across state lines. This fundraiser is especially important, because it supplies much of the operating budget for the following year. A large group of talented and dedicated members and volunteers meticulously prepare the mansion for this yearly event.

The gift shop is open all year long, but during Christmas the entire mansion gets a special holiday makeover with Christmas trees, decorated fireplace mantels and woodwork festooned with seasonal garlands. During Claremore’s Dickens Days in late November, the Belvidere is open in the evening so guests can experience the magic of a dozen or more sparkling trees. Volunteers, who plan and purchase finery throughout the year, spend many hours preparing for the grand opening and “lights on” in early November.

Christmas at the Belvidere is the perfect place to create unforgettable holiday memories that will last a lifetime. Bring family and friends to have lunch in the Tea Room and complete holiday shopping all in one relaxed setting. The mansion is dazzling at this time of year. Plus, with every purchase you make, you are helping to preserve the Belvidere Mansion for everyone to enjoy in years to come!

We thank you for your patronage and look forward to seeing you for Christmas at the Belvidere!
