25 - 26 Ambassador Classic Basketball Tournament - The Ambassador Classic is a gathering of Midwest area college basketball teams, from Kansas, Wyoming, Nebraska and Colorado. They test their skills at the tip-off of the basketball season at this annual tournament. The Ambassador Classic is hosted by the Colby Ambassadors and is held at the Community Building.

15 - 17 Governor's Ringneck Classic Meet & Greet - Annual Governor's Ringneck classic Pheasant Hunt. Friday night "Meet and Greet" dinner, raffle, auction. 6pm – 11pm

The town of Colby and surrounding community will host the hunt the third weekend of November. The community event will feature a variety of invited celebrities. Sport and entertainment personalities, business and educational leaders, artists, and other wildlife enthusiasts will join local guides to pursue the wily rooster pheasant!

A Friday night event is scheduled and billed as a meet and greet for area residents. The event, open to the public will provide an opportunity to join the Governor and his guests for dinner, a community drawing and live auction.

22 - 24 Santa City - Santa City is an annual event involving putting up Christmas decorations in Fike Park and turning the Scout Hut into a winter wonderland where Santa can be found.

Santa City is open weekends for both children and the "young at heart" starting the day after Thanksgiving on weekends, and then in the evenings the last 2 weeks before Christmas until Dec 24th.

It is a holiday wonderland with charming scenes of woodland characters, and of course Santa and Mrs. Santa. No admission charged, but donations are accepted. Santa City is funded entirely through donations.

1 Christmas Light Parade - The Christmas Light Parade is held the 1st Sunday in December. There are many imaginative uses of lights on machinery, vehicles, people and animals. It's a festive way to begin the Christmas season! The Light Parade is judged by the Chamber President, City Mayor and the Publisher of the Colby Free Press. Prizes are awarded to the top two placers in each of the five categories.

Sod House

The Eller House, displaying typical furniture, clothing, and objects, tells of farm life in the 1930s. The house was built in 1906 in Colby, was moved to a farm south of town in 1917 and was moved to the museum site in 1981.

The Lone Star Presbyterian Church denotes the strong religious faith of the settlers. The Charming white country church was built in 1915 north of Gem, Kansas. In 1988, the building was moved to the museum site. It was the third time the building had been moved.
