Ben Johnson Steer Roping Contest

This event is held annually in Pawhuska during Father's Day Weekend and draws the best of steer ropers in the nation. This contest is sure to interest even the most 'city-bound' spectator. The event is held in conjunction with the Osage County Cattlemen's Convention. Pawhuska is the hometown of the late Ben Johnson, Jr. and for many years he would come back to the steer roping contest named in his honor. Convention: Friday and Saturday. Roping, Sunday.

11:00 a.m., dummy steer roping for ages 5 & under and for 6-8 & 9-11 and 19. At 1:00 p.m. Ben Johnson Memorial Steer Roping. Participating in the roping itself is by invitation only.
