Event Details

The National Day of the Cowboy is a day set aside as a national day of recognition for the many contributions the American Cowboy and Cowgirl have made to the history, national identity and culture of the United States of America.

The official National Day of the Cowboy Organization is headquartered in Wilcox, Arizona, and the largest regional celebration in the country is held in Pinal County with four separate cities hosting extensive activities -- Apache Junction, Gold Canyon, Superior, and Florence.

At Florence, the Cowboy Cradle of the Great Southwest, the celebration starts Friday evening and continues through Saturday.

Friday, 5:30pm - Bank Robbery at the National Bank of Arizona.

6:30 pm - Cowboy Casino Night & Steak Fry @ the Old General Store. $30 for the event including dinner.

Saturday:

6:30am - Cowboy Breakfast @ American Legion
8:30am - Cowboy Festival @ Jacques Square. Dutch Oven cook off, Buck-a-Roo Roping, Water Balloon Square Off, Southwest Legends Gunfighters and Showdown Fast Draw.
11:00am - Victorian Fashion Show and 19th century Cowboy Tools. McFarland State Park.
1:00pm - Cowboy Movie Film Festival @ Florence Recreation Center.
8:00pm - Cowboy Dance @ American Legion Hall
