10 4-H Kidz Fest - The annual 4-H Kids Fest, held the 3rd Sunday in March, earned a state "leadership award" presented by the Nebraska Community Improvement Program. This event features a fun, learning experience involving the help of many local organizations including EMTs, Blaze Blaster Fire Prevention Team, Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce and many local merchants.

Over 300 youths and their parents attend this event. Anyone wishing to attend this youth-oriented festival can call the Extension Office for more information and the exact date.

8 June Jamboree - It's time for Franklin's Annual Summer Celebration! Saturday begins early with sidewalk sales on main street, followed by a parade at 10:00 am and classic cars. The rest of the afternoon you can relax at the City Park and enjoy everything from games to crafts to food.

4 - 7 Franklin County Fair - The Fair features carnival rides, 4-H Club and FFA livestock competitions and awards, livestock scrambles, tractor pulls and demolition derbies. Live entertainment, dances and a free barbeque along with lots of arts, crafts, cooking and baking competitions round out the attractions at this popular event.

9 - 11 BMW Bikers Rally - BMW motorcycle enthusiasts unite at Franklin County Fairgrounds for the annual rally the 2nd weekend in August. There’s camping and campfires, great vittles, some pickin’ and grinnin’ and good ole Franklin hospitality.

4 - 6 Heritage Highway Trail of Treasures - Discover Miles of Treasures Along Nebraska’s Heritage Highway! 1st Weekend in October.

A 14-county area spanning Nebraska’s Heritage Highway 136 has organized a three-day event to promote our towns, our businesses and our people. There will be open stores, garage and yard sales, antiques to be found and much more.

Our Trail of Treasures Shopper Guide contains Vendors and Sponsors for each participating town. Vendor sites are mapped and listed within each town. Each Vendor listing provides a brief description of their “Treasures” and the times they will be open to assist you as you plan your route for each day. Official Vendor sites will be marked with our official Trail of Treasures signs. We look forward to seeing you.

9 Parade of Lights - This city-wide event features decorated and lighted floats sponsored by families, merchants, schools, law enforcement, emergency services and government. The parade ends in a downtown celebration with merchant discounts, free movies, band music and lots of other entertainment. 6-7pm.
