23 - 28 Annual Swedish Days - A Midsommar Festival - Swedish Days, known as the "Granddaddy" of Illinois Festivals, celebrates Geneva's Swedish heritage. This year's theme is "1949 Revisited" and the fest features a host of family-friendly activities: Carnival, Craft Show, Rosemaling (Scandinavian painting), the state's largest Music Competition, Kids' Day, a pet parade, top-notch musical entertainment, Green Geneva Eco-Fun Expo and a renowned Grand Parade. Plenty of food booths offer Swedish and American fare as well as treats for your sweet tooth. Don't forget to shop the sales at over 100 one-of-a-kind stores in Geneva's historic business district. Geneva's train station is located on S. Third Street just blocks from the festivities.

25 - 26 Geneva Arts Fair - The Geneva Arts Fair showcases over 140 fine artisans from around the country in a host of mediums. Victorian homes-turned-businesses in the downtown historic district serve as a picturesque backdrop for the fine arts show that was again voted "Best Craft or Art Show" in 2008 by West Suburban Living magazine. Admission is free and includes a children's art area with special activities. Geneva's train station is located on S. Third Street just blocks from the festivities.

30 - 1 Festival of the Vine - Savor the flavor of Geneva during our autumn harvest celebration as Geneva restaurants create a "smorgasbord" of specialties all under a grand outdoor tent. The event also includes wine tastings, seminars and events, grape stomping, a flower market, a craft and gorgeous gourds show, first-rate musical entertainment plus great shopping in Geneva's historic downtown. The Kids' Patch offers a hay stack treasure hunt, tractor pull, gourd crafts, face painting and entertainment. Geneva's train station is located on S. Third Street just blocks from the festivities.

The festival is from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Fourth St. and Rt. 38, near the Metra Train Station.

22 - 23 Christmas Walk & House Tour - A special holiday tradition to ring in the season, the Christmas Walk begins on Friday evening with local choirs singing carols as the Great Tree on the Courthouse lawn is lit with twinkling lights and chestnuts roast over open fires. At 6:00 Friday evening, Santa Lucia is brought by horse-drawn carriage to offer Swedish cookies to merrymakers, Santa Claus arrives to begin his visits with the children, and the first candy cane of the season is presented to the Mayor. Distinctive homes aglow with holiday decorations by local decorators open their doors on Friday and Saturday to welcome visitors on this popular seasonal House Tour.
