The Eder House

category : Historic Homes
This Colonial Revival home was built in 1905 of unbaked adobe and has a hip roof and a full-width veranda. It was originally an 868 sq. ft. duplex with an outhouse in the back. The shake shingle roof was covered with sheets of corrugated metal, and newspapers dated 1938 were used as insulation in the attic. The floor covering in part of the house is original from 1938 and the ornate door knobs and door hinges are made from copper. It is believed that the bathroom was put inside the house around 1957. Most of the home has been restored to reflect the time period in which it was originally built.

This home is surrounded by dense vegetation and huge sycamore trees.
