10 Higginsville Black History Month Celebration - The annual Higginsville, MO Black History Month Celebration will be held on Saturday at 6 pm at the Salem United Church of Christ. The event is sponsored by the Higginsiville Black History Month Planning Committee. The theme is "Why We Celebrate Black History Month, Who We Are, and We We Came From." Guest speaker is Reverend Dr. Isaish Muita. There will be a Q & A session with Rev. Muita. Music will be provided by the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church Choir, Evangelist Eveyln and Reverend Glenn Elmore.

A reception immediately follows the program. Also an African American History display will be available for viewing.

Come join us again as we raise money for Prader-Willi Syndrome research! All proceeds will go into a PWS fund at KU Medical Center towards research in hopes of one day finding a cure. 15 Juneteenth Celebration - This is a free, fun, family-oriented annual event. Juneteenth or June 19 is the oldest observance of the end of slavery in the United States. Activities include a parade that starts at 10 am at 15th & Main and ends at the Fairground Park, an opening ceremony, live music and entertainment, children and youth activities, John Madden NFL video game tournament, a job fair, educational exhibits and speakers. There is a new state of the art swimming pool in addition to horseshoe, tennis, basketball courts and a softball fields that are available. 10 am to 6 pm.

4 Higginsville 4th of July Family Fireworks Show - A family-oriented evening in the park with food, games, decorated bike and trike parade, Washer contest, live music and fireworks. Activities will begin at 5:00 p.m. with featured live entertainment on stage at 8:00 p.m. At dusk one of the biggest and best fireworks display will be presented.
