Jacksboro, Texas

Petroleum refining and related oil field services are among industries in Jacksboro, the seat of Jack County, a primarily large, sparsely settled ranching area. The Jacksboro settlement began 1855, where the Butterfield stages ran through community which was first known as Los Creek, next Mesquiteville, then Jacksboro.

The quaint downtown includes buildings that were constructed of native limestone built in the late 1800s. Shoppers enjoy browsing through gift and antique shops. Two city parks provide recreational activities and there's a nine-hole golf course for golfers.
