In 1975 the newly organized Greeley County Historical Society met with the commissioners and asked for the old courthouse to use as a museum. Many meetings, circulating petitions etc. and time was put... The G. L. Reid Building, built in 1909 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was the lawyer's office.
The cement block building still remains in service on Main Street.
