July

5July Jubilee - July Jubilee is the biggest community event of the year! It brings in thousands of people to Jackson County to enjoy music and entertainment, military tribute, inflatables and FIREWORKS! at Banner Creek Reservoir.

July Jubilee offers outstanding talent and a sound everyone can enjoy, whether you're pure country, a little bit rock n roll, soul or something in between. Joey+Rory will be headlining July Jubilee 2012. Other entertainment that evening will include The Randel Stueve Band and Tyler Ahlgren. There will also be other fun family food and activities.

Joey+Rory have local ties to Atchison and Highland, where Rory grew up. Rory moved to Tennessee where he found success writing songs for others like Blake Shelton's "Some Beach," Clay Walker's "The Chain of Love," and most recently Easton Corbin's #1 hit "A Little More Country Than That" along with cuts by Kenny Chesney, Randy Travis, Collin Raye, Reba and many others. In addition to career success in Tennessee he also found love. Joey was an aspiring solo artist, but in 2008 the pair was talked into an audition for CMT's realty show Can You Duet. This began the journey that led them to a 3rd place finish on that show, a record deal and large fan base. Their debut album The Life Of A Song included their hit "Cheater Cheater" and their fame continued to grow resulting in tours, radio, videos awards (including 2010 ACM Award for Top New Vocal Duo), and to July Jubilee in Jackson County. We are thankful to have them!!! The Randel Stueve Band consists of the namesakes Devin Randel (lead guitar and vocals) and Sam Stueve (lead vocals and guitar), John Johnson (bass) and Jeff Nider (drums). Based out of Manhattan now, the band got their start in Frankfort, Kansas. Their first gig was a basement bash for a friend's birthday, but it has grown to much more lucrative deals now. Their signature red dirt sound is a favorite in Aggieville, but it has taken them all across Kansas and beyond. Red dirt is thought of as country, but their music has also been described as southern rock. Tyler Ahlgren a 2012 senior at Jackson Heights High School is making a name for himself! He is multi-talented and versatile and its getting him noticed. His first musical instrument was the drums, then piano/keyboard and it was true love from the time he picked up an electric guitar. His vocal ability and lyrical genius rivals his instrumental talents. He plays all his own instruments, signs all vocal roles including lead and background. His favorites are rock n roll, but yours may be his bluegrass or Christian sound. No genre is off limits to him! His spirited fight song "Go Fight Win Tonight" helped Jackson Heights claim the Johnsonville's Spritiville Contest. He's also been named 2011 Riley County Idol winner and 2012 St. Joe's Got Talent winner.
