22 Comedy Night - Holton VFW Post 1367 will host a Comedy Show featuring David Nickerson, Evan Culp & Grasshopper. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $10 ($12 at the door) Monday through Saturday 4-11PM at he VFW Hall (926 W 6th St, Holton). Doors open at 7PM. Beer, burgers and bar food available.

28 - 29 County Wide Garage Sales - The Chamber of Commerce sponsors two county wide garage sales per year, in the spring and fall. In addition to traditional residential garage sales we have also made space available for rural residents, vendors or dealers to rent on the fairgrounds. This locations gives great access to the many visitors coming to town for the sales, but also great visibility to catch the attention of traffic on 16 & 75 highways.

Deadline to be included on the map is 5:00 Monday prior. The map will be compiled listing all registered sales and highlighting the items they have to offer. A list of locations where the maps can be purchased will be listed here as the weekend gets closer. Maps will not be available until Thursday afternoon.

26 - 27 Glory Days/Car & Craft Show - Memorial Day is a big event in Jackson County! Holton welcomes alumni back to town, we rally around our hometown heroes, and we celebrate! The celebration starts on Friday night and continues through Saturday. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun! Vendors must be registered in advance to participate. Car show participants are encouraged to register in advance, however it is not mandatory.

1 July Jubilee - July Jubilee is the biggest community event of the year! It brings in thousands of people to Jackson County to enjoy music and entertainment, military tribute, inflatables and FIREWORKS! at Banner Creek Reservoir.

July Jubilee offers outstanding talent and a sound everyone can enjoy, whether you're pure country, a little bit rock n roll, soul or something in between. There will also be other fun family food and activities.

23 - 30 Barn Tour - Annual Barn Tour. This year's guided school bus tour will be around the scenic Banner Creek Reservoir area. Tour includes stops at barns, entertainment and surprises. Lunch at Your Place or Mine Restaurant: pulled pork sandwiches with all the trimmings. Same tour will also be held on October 4. Reservations are required.

6 - 20 Haunted Holton Ghost Tour - History and mystery collide during the Holton Ghost Tour, Holton House, formerly a mortuary tops the list as the most haunted location, along with Holton Country Club and Hotel Josephine. Small town charm brings out the ghosts! Tour will depart from the front of Holton House Bed and Breakfast at 7:00 PM and 8:30PM. Two Weekends. Later hours means cooler temperatures.

These local businesses will decorate the downstairs rooms and showcase their wares: All Around Sweets, expressions Flowers & Gifts, Bar S Tack & Western Wear, Koger Variety, and Lee's Flower & Gift Shop. Jackson County Historical Society volunteers will exhibit the Roebke family history in the upper story, including Victorian clothing, a children's room, quilts and dolls.

Sears Roebuck and Co. House

A Sears Roebuck and Co. concrete block house was featured in the 1908 General Catalog for $1,995.00. That amount allowed for paid labor for assembling the house. The concrete blocks were made on site with a Wizard of Buckeye Concrete Block Machine which were sold in the same catalog.
