8 - 10 Le Claire Tug Fest - Over 35,000 people view this spectacular and only tug-of-war across the longest river in the U.S.A. Rope stretches between Le Claire, Iowa and Port Byron, Ill. and 10, or more, teams pull 2,700ft and 680lb of rope spanning the Mississippi River. Festivals on both sides of the river with live music, entertainment, children's activities, food, crafts, fireworks.
