2021 Quilt Extravaganza

MORE THAN JUST AN EXHIBIT OF OLD QUILTS... Our featured exhibitor is TAMMY REID, whose husband Andy is the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Over 60 out of 100 quilts from her collection will be on display from September 4th - October 30th, every Saturday between 10:00am - 5:00pm, and Sunday between 1:15-4:30pm, along with the historical Harris House quilts. Private tours available on weekdays.

Our goal is to offer everything related to Art of Quilting between 1850-Today with activities to fit anyone's experience level and interests: from the non-quilters like Tammy and every level between the highly experienced quilters to our young, new generation of quilters and quilt wannabes.

Quilting activities, courses and workshops will span topics covering mid-1800s quilts-today and every style of quilt you can imagine including today's modern and artsy quilts. Three quilting categories will cover historical topics and techniques, art and technical themes, and topics aimed at the business of quilting. Activities will be offered for children and junior quilters: grade school and high school aged quilters or their parents.

This is the site of the old town, as it appears today, where the Santa Fe Trail passed through Lenexa. The buildings still stand as a reminder of the beginning, the coming of the railroad, and the establishment of commerce that has brought prosperity to the descendants of these pioneers.
