Lipscomb, Texas

The seat of Lipscomb County, near the Texas-Oklahoma border, was founded in 1868 by J.W.Arthur in anticipation of the coming railroad. Today, Lipscomb functions as the county's center for farming and ranching along with oil and gas explorations.

A favorite spot for birdwatchers and photographers, Lipscomb is surrounded by the Canadian Breaks Loop portion of the Panhandle Plains Wildlife Trail.
