14 Old Settlers' Day - Old Settler's Day is a day long event held the last Saturday in September which is our traditional "homecoming" for residents, past and present, that grew up in Marion. It is our annual chance for old friends and classmates to gather and reminisce.
The festivities start off in the morning with a run at Marion County Park and Lake, sponsored by Marion Recreation.
At 11:00am, there is a parade down Main Street, followed by food, entertainment and games in Central Park, hosted by Marion Kiwanis Club.

During the festivities at Central Park, members of the graduating classes from Marion High School, in 5 year increments, are brought up to the gazebo and introduce themselves. 2013's graduating classes will be 2008, 2001, 1998, 1991, 1988, 1981, etc.

Class reunions are traditionally held during this weekend also.

If you are a graduate of Marion High School, we invite you to come "back home" and enjoy our Old Settler's Day celebration and join your old class mates at your reunion.
