Barnette Park: Features several ponds for children's fishing, playground areas, two sand volleyball courts, winter ice skating, large open area for kite flying and picnic shelters with grills. Deer, ducks, and geese, as well as llama, goats and a water buffalo are a main attraction for all ages and can be observed throughout the park. Trails run through the woods along the river for those who enjoy hiking or bicycling and an out of the way picnic spot can always be found.
Overlooks the Republican River at the south edge of McCook on Hwy 83.
Elks City Park: Features a children's playground with three tennis courts.
Located on the 500 block of West 5th Street
Karrer Park: Features free camping, modern restrooms and showers, picnic areas with tables and grills, electrical hookups and a payphone. Karrer Park is a free tourist camp.
Located at the east edge of McCook on Hwy 6 & 34 at the end of Kelley Creek Walking Trail
Kelley Park: Features several picnic shelter areas, a modern sand-covered playground, basketball court, tennis courts, sand volleyball court, horse shoe pits, several hills for sledding, plenty of space and shade trees. The Kelley Creek Walking Trail is an 11 mile trail that stretches from the north end of Norris Avenue to Karrer Park and passes through the heart of Kelley Park. Bolles Canyon is at the edge of the park and serves as a great place for out of the way picnics.
Located on East M Street next to McCook Municipal Swimming Pool
Norris Park: Features a sand covered playground, picnic tables, modern restrooms, a Nebraska State Historical Marker, the Copper Kettle Monument and the Norris Bandshell. The Norris Bandshell is a main attraction during events such as, Buffalo Commons Storytelling Festival and Heritage Days, where live entertainment can be enjoyed while relaxing outdoors.
