21 - 23 International Sowbug Roundup, a Celebration of Fly Fishing - A celebration of fly fishing featuring over 100 fly tiers from across US and Europe. We offer instruction in fly tying, fly casting and have seminars that cover general conservation and fly fishing. This is a family event, we have many youth tiers.

4 - 5 Annual North Arkansas Woodcarvers Show and Sale - The North Arkansas Woodcarvers Show and Sale is one of the biggest shows in the area. Usually the first full weekend in May. The show features whittlers, woodcarvers, wood turners, vendors, judged competitions, demonstrations, and a carving contest. Judges are well qualified and chosen with care. Participants are from all levels - novice to professional. Many nationally known, professional carvers from across the United States participate in our show each year, along with local carvers.

Admission to the show is FREE to the public.

8 Annual Kids Fishing Derby - This year the Annual Kids Fishing Derby will be held on Saturday at Quarry Park just below Norfork Lake Dam. Each year ,over 400 kids participate in this event with activities that range in age from 2 -18 years old. The event is free and fun for the entire family with the Norfork Hatchery producing much of the fun by stocking trout in both the portable pools for kids under the age of 5 and also Dry Run Creek. Broken up into three separate age groups, there are prizes for every child with trophies awarded to the biggest fish and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each age group. Lunch is provided by TLC Bank and the event is free to all youth!

21 - 22AR0501021e007 - Mountain Home Red White and Blue Festival - The Red, White and Blue Festival is the premier festival event in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Join us for variety of activities on Friday including an Art Show, "Symbols of Freedom" Parade, Rodeo featuring Chicks-N-Spurs.

Then on Saturday come out for a full day of festival activities including a 5K Run, Kids activities, and much more! The day concludes with a Spectacular Fireworks Show, described as one of the best in the nation!
