25Seip Mound- Ohio Historical Society - Seip Mound is the central mound in a group of geometric earthworks. Farming and erosion have degraded the surrounding earthworks, leaving the central mound an outstanding feature. It is 240 feet long, 130 feet wide and 30 feet high. Excavations have revealed that prehistoric Indian buildings existed near the earthworks.

Today, visitors can see the location of some of these buildings, as they are outlined by short posts in the grounds.

CHRISTMAS AT THE CABIN

AN AREA TRADITION!

“We haven’t had our Christmas till we’ve had at least one visit to Christmas at the Cabin”, an opening remark heard over and over as folks arrive at the unique holiday shop on Cave Road.

Christmas at the Cabin is stuffed from floor to rafters with beautiful hand-crafted wares from artisans, both locally and from across the United Sates.. This year’s Christmas at the Cabin marks the 35th year that Dave and Janny Brizius have opened their old authentic log cabin as a very special Christmas shop. It’s likely that you will find “Just the perfect thing” for someone on you shop[ping list, but don’t feel guilty when you find a “Can’t live without it” something for yourself, too!

The Cabin will be open daily mid October through mid December. (Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am till 5pm and Sundays from 1pm till 5pm,with Special Thanksgiving evening hours of 4pm till 9pm. It is always closed on Mondays.

You will find the Cabin on the Cave Road, midway between Hillsboro and Chillicothe. (4 miles west of Bainbridge on US Route 50.)
