7Campus Martius Museum: the Museum of the Northwest Territory - Campus Martius Museum is the Ohio Historical Society's interpretive center for the history of settlement and migration in Ohio, ranging from 1780 - 1970. Museum exhibits explain how three important waves of migration -- beginning in the 1780s, the 1850s, and the 1920s -- helped make Ohio the economically and culturally diverse state it is today.

On display is the Rufus Putnam House, built in 1788 and the last remaining structure from the civilian fortification Campus Martius; the Ohio Company Land Office, also from the late 18th century, and exhibits that explain how Ohio and the Northwest Territory's early settlers made a life for themselves in what was then, in the 1780s and 1790s, the West.

Also featured is "Paradise Found and Lost: Migration in the Ohio Valley" about successive waves of migration that carried Ohioans from the farms to the cities in the mid-1800s to the early 1900s and then Appalachian migrants north to Ohio in the 20th Century.
