30 - 1 Scissortail Creative Writing Festival - Fifty poets and authors from Oklahoma and beyond will read from their original work on the campus of East Central University in Ada. Sessions run all day Thursday and Friday, 9:30 am -- 6:30 pm. and on Saturday, 8:30 am. to 1pm. All sessions are free to the public. Book sales and signings available.

2 Annual Ray Stout Memorial Warbird Fly-in - Historic and Classic Aircraft, Static Displays, Aerobatic Air show Acts and Oklahoma State BBQ Championship Contest! Fun, Fun, Fun! The gates will open at 8:30 Saturday, with the Airshow beginning at 11:00.

In addition to the aviation activities, Ada Air Expo joins with the Ada Lions Club to promote the Annual State Championship "Pigs Can Fly BBQ Cookoff", a Kansas City Barbecue Society sanctioned competition cookoff.
