Falcon Fright Fest Comes to Olathe South
The Olathe South Department of Performing Arts will be hosting Falcon Fright Fest this October 29, 30 and 31. This three day event will contain events for people of all ages and scare thresholds. The event will kick off on Thursday, October 29 at 7:00 PM with the world premiere performance of the play The Haunting of Hannibal House. Below are the different events that will be happening for Falcon Fright Fest! This event will be collecting canned foods for the Trick-Or-Treat so Kids Can Eat campaign and is a fundraiser for the Performing Arts.
The Haunting of Hannibal House: This world premier one act surrounds 8 teenagers spending the night in a haunted house on a dare. It is rumored that “Howard Hannibal” who built this enormous estate in 1864, buried treasure before vanishing alongside his unknown acquaintance in 1875. Nobody in the house has been able to remain there long, due to mysterious fires, murders, and ghostly occurrences. Will these 8 students make it through the night? Will they find lost treasure? What will happen in the “Haunting of Hannibal House? Come find out on October 29th and 30th! Show begins at 7PM and is not recommended for children under 12.
Falcon Haunt: Ghouls and spirits abide as the Thespians of Troupe 5006 will be hosting a scare filled Haunted House. Walk the haunted hall and enter the parlor of the mansion. What happens in there, no one will say. You must experience it for yourself. The haunted house is open after the show on Friday and at 7:30PM on Saturday.
Kids Fright Fest: On Saturday 10/31, starting at 1PM the Thespian Troupe 5006 will also be hosting a Halloween festival for our younger kids. We will have games, prizes, face painting and costumed characters for the kids of Olathe to interact and take pictures with. This family friendly event is a fun filled event for elementary aged kids.
Halloween Orchestra Concert: On Saturday 10/31 at 7PM join the Falcon Orchestra as they entertain the spook in all of us. Listen to the sounds of the season as the costumed orchestra plays music from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera, the TranSiberian Orchestra and many other frightfully familiar selections.
