The City of Pierce, Nebraska is a rural farming community located 15 miles northwest of Norfolk along NE Highway 13. Pierce is a thriving community of 1,767 residents. Originally founded by Germans from Wisconsin in 1869, Pierce grew to include many different nationalities within just a few years.. By the time of the platting in 1871, streets were given names, some of which were named after persons who purchased the land or made additions to the city, such as Brown, Lucas and Gibson.

Pierce celebrates its sesquicentennial in 2021, with its eyes toward an ever-expanding community, yet committed to historic preservation as displayed in five buildings filled with memories of the past at the Pierce County Historical Museum complex. While in Gilman Park enjoy the arboretum that encompasses 14 acres around Bill Cox Memorial Lake. Willow Creek State Recreation Area covers 1,633 acres and is popular with campers, anglers, picnickers, and hunters. Equally popular is the beautiful 9-hole Pierce Community Golf Course. Pierce offers residents as well as visitors a one-of-a-kind of experience in Nebraska.
