Revisiting the Ohio Frontier
- Take an afternoon and come along for a tour of sites that were very important before Ohio was a state. We will begin at Pickawillany and learn what archaeology has told us about the site. Next stop will be Gen. Arthur St. Clair?s Fort Jefferson. Then it?s on to Greenville and the site of Anthony Wayne?s treaty that began Ohio settlement. The last stop is Fort Recovery, a site associated with both St. Clair and Wayne. To reserve your seat on the bus, call by April 12, 2008. Piqua Historical Area - Ohio Historical Society
- This site celebrates 2,000 years of Ohio's rich history from prehistoric Indians to the canal era. The focal point of the site is the 1829 restored home and farm of federal Indian agent John Johnston. Costumed tour guides and craft demonstrators provide tours of the farm area. Located behind the 1802 double-penned log barn is a 2,000-year-old prehistoric Indian mound. Visitors won't want to miss taking a ride on the mule-drawn canal boat on a mile-long restored section of the Miami and Erie canal. A Day for Dear Mother at the Johnston Farm

Rossville Museum and Cultural Center
- This 1869 home of former slave York Ryal is a newly renovated monument to freedom. The displays tell the history of the 383 slaves freed by John Randolph of the Roanoke Plantation in Charlotte County Virginia, their journey to the north, and the injustices they suffered. Miami County and American Black History are documented from the 1700's to the 1900's. Exhibits showcase the Mills Brothers, contain African artifacts, and document the under-ground railroad in the area. Address: |

Piqua Traders Gathering
- Traders and campers representing the site?s historic time periods will gather. Visitors are invited to stroll among the camps, visit with those who are here, and perhaps make a purchase or two. The 1862 Camp Piqua era will be featured with reenactors and a camp. Visitors are also encouraged to visit the Johnston home, the Historic Indian and Canal Museum, take a ride on the General Harrison canal boat, and bring a picnic lunch and make a day of their visit as they step back into the time periods that have been a part of this area?s rich history. Rush Creek Gardens
- Rush Creek Gardens is a family owned farm specializing in organic farming & community supported agriculture. CSA a unique model of local agriculture involving a direct growing and purchasing relationship between an individual and the local farmer. Customers pay in advance for a share of the farm's seasonal produce, and benefit from maximum freshness and nutrition.
