Pomme de Terre Campgrounds

Pomme de Terre Campgrounds Ten campgrounds are conveniently located around Pomme de Terre Lake. Six are managed by the Corps of Engineers (Nemo Landing, Damsite, Outlet, Wheatland, Lightfoot Landing and Pittsburg Landing. Two are operated by marina concessionaires. They are Quarry Point, operated by the Harbor Marina and Highway 83 Campground, operated by Highway 83 Marina.

All campgrounds offer level campsites, lantern hanging posts, picnic tables and fire rings, and many have electrical hookups. Shower buildings with hot showers, sanitary dump stations and playgrounds are provided in most parks.

Swimming beaches are located at Nemo Park, Wheatland Park and the two Missouri State Park areas. These beaches have parking, change houses and toilet facilities available. At Pomme de Terre lake, day use fees are charged at the Nemo and Wheatland areas. The fee for swimming is $1 per person per day for those 12 and older, not to exceed $4 per vehicle.

Reservations: Reservations are accepted for campsites and group camps. While reservations are not required for any of our campgrounds, they are advisable during peak use (holidays) or if you desire a specific site.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks also operates campgrounds in the Hermitage and Pittsburg areas of Pomme de Terre State Park.

Pittsburg Side of the Park

Campground loops 100 and 200 are open year-round. Campground loops 300 and 400 are open from April through October and closed from November through March. Services include a full-service marina, beach, shelterhouse, laundry, water, picnic area, trails, dump station and an accessible showerhouse. The dump station, showerhouse and water are turned off from November through March.

Hermitage Side of the Park

The Hermitage campground is open year-round. Services include a large beach, special-use camping area, picnic area, trails, dump station, showerhouse, laundry and available water. The showerhouse, dump station and water are turned off from November through March. For reservations, there is a required two-night minimum stay for weekends and major holidays from May 15 through Sept. 15.

Pomme de Terre Lake is known for its excellent fishing. Good strings of crappie, black bass, white bass, bluegill, and channel cat are commonly taken from the lake. Pomme de Terre Lake is also noted for its muskie fishing. Muskellunge have been stocked in the lake regularly since 1966

Hunters will find a variety of game, including rabbit, dove, squirrel, turkey, deer, and waterfowl at Pomme de Terre. Hunting is permitted in all areas of the project with the exception of the park areas and administration areas.
