Simple Curiosities is a tea room, book store, and gift shop located in the historic Carter-Booker building built in 1903 which once served as the headquarters for the Cotton Exchange.

As a book store, Simple Curiosities honors and celebrates Oklahoma's colorful history with books covering topics from the different Indian Nations which were brought to this territory, the lawmen and outlaws that road rough-shot on the prairies, the harsh pioneer life, the cotton boom which lead to the dust bowl, and the infamous bootleggers, as well as, local area sites and attractions, cookbooks, etiquette, politics, and children's activity books.

As a tea room, Simple Curiosities carries over 21 different teas which can be enjoyed hot or cold. In May, service was expanded to include lunch. The chicken and almond salad sandwich is hands down the most popular! A trip to Ardmore isn't complete without tasting one of our signature desserts, our Four-Layer Chocolate Cake and Pineapple Cheesecake. Simple Curiosities is sure to satisfy the most discerning sweet-tooth.

The atmosphere in the historic Carter-Booker Building, with its traditional 17-foot ceilings and original pressed tin tiles, creates a unique setting to relax and visit.

Simple Curiosities offers discounts to schools, groups, and/or organizations with their book order requests and provides a great place for study groups. Free WiFi internet access is also available.

Our Tea Room Balcony can be reserved for birthday parties, baby and bridal showers, group meetings and private events during and after normal business hours. Simple Curiosities also hosts private tea parties for all ages, complete with tea etiquette lessons.
