Sinton's greatest population surge came in 1909 when several large ranches divided into smaller farms with the resulting diversity of agriculture still being apparent. Recreation includes a small downtown park with a picnic area, the 300-acre Rob and Bessie Welder Park with playground, golf, tennis, swimming pool, and small lake east of U.S. 181 north.
