Smithville Community Historical Society Open House from 1:30 to 4:00 pm at the Mishler Weaving Mill and Reception Center, 381 East Main Street. Watch the Mill's weaving looms, the oldest of which dates from 1895, weave dish cloths, table runners, and place mats. See rag rugs, rag placemats, and dish towels being woven on hand looms.  One of our rug looms is an 1860 rocker beater barn beam loom. Tour the Reception Center Exhibits: The Mishler Memorial Room, Photography Room, and The Heritage Educational Room.

On a separate campus near the Smithville Post Office, tour the Pioneer Log Cabin, Village Blacksmith Shop, Sheller Log House, Carriage Barn with the Village Pottery, the LyDo Barn Exhibit, and The Historic Church of God. Buildings that are handicap accessible include: the Mishler Weaving Mill, the Reception Center, the LyDo Barn Exhibit, and The Historic Church of God.

Mishler Weaving Mill

The Mishler Weaving Mill is a textile weaving mill using original looms, the oldest of which dates from 1895. One rug loom is an 1860 rocker beater barn beam loom. The Mill is owned and operated by member-volunteers of the Smithville Community Historical Society. Items woven include:
