6 - 20 More Steam At The Throttle Experiences - Put yourself in the engineer's seat of a steam locomotive! After a quick safety briefing and instruction on how to operate the locomotive, climb aboard for your turn to ride down the rails! Join us for this once in a lifetime experience that any rail fan will love. Do it for yourself or as a gift for your favorite railfan!

Jeddo Coal Company #85, nicknamed "Mack," is a standard gauge, coal burning, 0-4-0 Tank Steam Engine owned and restored by Gramling Locomotive works. The locomotive was built in 1928 by the Vulcan Iron Works for the A.E. Dick Construction Co. of Scranton, Pennsylvania who used it in their stone quarry until 1933 when they sold it to the Jeddo – Highland Coal Company located near Hazelton, Pennsylvania. Jeddo named it Engine No. 85 and used it in their mining operations until 1964 when they sold it to a collector who moved it to Horseheads, New York.

3 North Carolina Transportation Museum All Ford Show - This car show is open to all Fords and all Ford orphans. The largest of the museum’s car shows, this event grows each year, usually featuring more than 100 cars.

10 Brew & Choo Festival - We can't wait to be BREW-ing and CHOO-ing with you! Join us from 4 – 9 p.m. for the return of the Brew & Choo Craft Beer Festival to the N.C. Transportation Museum! During the event, craft brewers will be onsite for you to purchase and sample their original brews. A small entrance fee ($5 for ages 21+) is required but after that, you simply pay for what you drink and eat.

Enhance your experience by purchasing a train ride ticket and while aboard you'll get to sample brews crafted just for this event. It's a one-of-a-kind beer tasting experience you’re sure to raise your glass to! Train ride times are: 4, 5:15, 6:30, and 7:45 p.m. Seating is limited so hurry before tickets sell out!

Local music legend Darrell Harwood will provide live entertainment with his kickin' country throughout the event! A variety of food trucks will be on-site serving up delicious pairings. Enjoy lawn games and other activities like Balloon Twister and Bubble Guy! This is a family-friendly event.

14 Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Show - Members-only car show featuring antique cars of all makes and models. The show runs 9am to 3pm with awards presented at 3pm at the picnic shelters. Spectators welcome, with no admission fee. 10 am - 3 pm.

20 - 2 Thomas the Tank Engine - An Operational Thomas the Tank Engine will pull passengers around the property on a 30 minute train ride. 8:30 am - 6 pm daily. Two weekends, Friday-Sunday.

8 - 19 Polar Express Train Ride - Three weekends in November and December. 'Well, are you coming?' Inspired by the hit movie, this holiday favorite comes to life as you and your family take a magical trip on THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride!

Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, families are sure to enjoy their trip to the North Pole, complete with hot chocolate and cookies served on board the train. Passengers are entertained by a reading of Chris Van Allsburg’s classic, The Polar Express. Upon arrival at the North Pole, passengers deboard to watch Santa present the first gift of Christmas. Before exiting the train at Candy Cane Lane, all passengers who BELIEVE will receive their own sleigh bell.

Experience the joy of caroling and holiday entertainment that will surely become an annual family tradition. Children of all ages are encouraged to wear their pajamas for the ride and join in on the magic of Christmas!
