22 - 24 Spring Moon Motorcycle Rally - The first motorcycle event of 2006 at Horse Pens 40 brings bikers from all over the Southeast to this unique motorcycle camping weekend. The beautiful Spring flowers in this historic nature park, along with the warming weather make this a must-do event. There will be live Southern Rockin' Blues music in the historic natural amphitheater along with the 'Scooterodeo' on Sat., featuring competitive events (slow ride, weenie bite, hoop toss, ride-in bike show, and more!), with CASH PRIZES for the winners. Also we will have a 50/50 drawing, vendors, great food, and more. Bring the kids to this family friendly event that raises money for the Chandler Mtn. Vol. Fire Dept. as well as the Christian Motorcycle Assn.'s choice of charities. All makes and models of motorcycles are always welcome at Horse Pens 40.

26 - 28 Spring Bluegrass Festival - Horse Pens 40's first bluegrass event of the 2006 season brings together top quality bands along with aspiring young talent, all eager to play their tunes in the ancient amphitheater located in this historic nature park atop Chandler Mtn.. Designated "The Home of the South's Bluegrass Music" by the Alabama State Legislature, many of the most famous bluegrass musicians have played here, such as Bill Monroe, Charley Daniels, Ricky Scaggs, Lester Flatt, Ralph Stanley, "Doc" Watson, Norman Blake, Deacon Dan Crary, Ace Weems and the Fat Meat Boys, The Osbourne Brothers, Sam McGee, Red Clay Ramblers, and many more. Some, such as EmmyLou Harris, Marty Stewart, and Three On A String started their careers here. Horse Pens 40 is world famous not only for it's bizarre rock formations and its long bluegrass music history, but also for it's native American and Civil War history as well. Its unique rock formations, such as the famous 'slopers', attract an international climbing crowd throughout the cooler months.

12 - 14 Green Corn Moon Motorcycle Rally - This popular motorcycle event (named after an important Native American ceremony which has been done here at Horse Pens 40 for thousands of years and still continues to this day) brings bikers from all over the Southeast to this special motorcycle camping weekend. Horse Pens 40's final bluegrass event brings together top name bands along with aspiring young talent, all eager to play their tunes in the ancient amphitheater located in this historic nature park atop Chandler Mtn.. Designated "The Home of the South's Bluegrass Music" by the Alabama State Legislature, many of the most famous bluegrass musicians have played here, such as Bill Monroe, Charley Daniels, Ricky Scaggs, Lester Flatt, Ralph Stanley, "Doc" Watson, Norman Blake, and many more. The proceeds from this show go to benefit the "Are You OK?" senior citizen support program in the area of Steele/Chandler Mtn., and administered by Steele PD Officer, Joy Ray. It provides important aid and support for seniors who are still living at home, but could use a little occasional help to make it through the tough times. This event also benefits the Chandler Mtn. and the Steele Volunteer Fire Depts. as well.

27 - 28 Pumpkin's Moon Motorcycle Rally - The final motorcycle event of the season at Horse Pens 40, brings bikers from all over the Southeast to this unique motorcycle camp-out weekend. It is a laid-back family-oriented motorcycle campout weekend that features live southern rockin' boogie blues music, biker games with cash prizes, a ride-in bike show, 50/50 drawing Sat night, vendors, and more.The beautiful Fall foliage along with the cooler weather make this a must-do event. The "Pumpkin' Moon" rally gets its title from an indian name for the full moon of October, also known as the Great Moon.

There will be live music in the historic amphitheater along with the 'Scooterodeo', featuring competitive events (slow ride, weenie bite, hoop toss, ride-in bike show, and more!), with CASH PRIZES for the winners. Also we will have a 50/50 drawing, vendors, great food, and more. Bring the kids to this family friendly event that raises money for the Chandler Mtn. Vol. Fire Dept. as well as the Christian Motorcycle Assn.'s choice of charities. All makes and models of motorcycles are always welcome at Horse Pens 40.

There is a $30 weekend pass available that is good from Fri. thru Sunday including admission to the concert, entry for the games, and FREE motorcycle camping Fri. and Sat. nights.

There is also a one day pass available (Fri. or Sat) that does not include camping for only $10.

5 Boulderween - Boulderween is a Halloween bouldering party and concert and a fundraiser for the Southeastern Climbers Coalition.

Live music, food, costume party, and lots more are scheduled, along with some of the best bouldering in the world. 6:00 PM

All proceeds will go towards Alabama access projects including insurance and property taxes for the Jamestown Climbing Preserve.

13 Triple Crown Southeastern Bouldering Series - One of the largest outdoor bouldering competitions in the world, the Triple Crown Southeastern Bouldering Series draws climbers from all over the U.S. and around the world to try their skills on Horse Pens 40's 'slopers'. World famous for it's unique rock formations known as 'slopers', the historic nature park has over 600 named and rated climbs, with diffuculty levels from V0 (easy) to V12+(nearly impossible) to challenge all climbers.

The prestige and the prizes bring every level of climber, from amateurs to the worlds' top climbers, as well as their parents, family, and other spectators to this historic nature park for a weekend of the best bouldering to be had anywhere. There will be free prizes, prize drawings, food, music, and more. 8am til around 4pm.

This event will benefit the Southeastern Climbers Coalition, and it will also benefit the Chandler Mtn. and Steele Volunteer Fire Depts..

There are weekend passes available that cover the entire weekend, as well as Saturday only spectator tickets, and everything in between.
