4OK0301051e001 - Stilwell Annual Strawberry Festival - Stilwell Kiwanis Club has sponsored the annual Stilwell Strawberry Festival on the second Saturday in May since its first debut in 1948. The festival has continued throughout the years to be a highly anticipated event for the Stilwell community and visitors come to take part in the contests, 5K run, parade, berry auction, free strawberries and ice-cream servings, rodeos, carnival, arts and crafts and other events that make the festival a success each year.

Members of the Kiwanis continue to strive to hold the festival as a cornerstone event of the community and offer the community and its visitors hometown events that create fond memories that so many have shared for over 65 years.

28 Adair County Benefit Chili Cook-Off - Annual Adair County Benefit Chili Cook-Off is held the second Saturday in October on the Adair County Courthouse lawn. A section of Division Street is closed between 2nd and 3rd Streets to accomodate the chili cooks. The event usually kicks off around 8:00 am for the cooks to begin preparing their chili and then at 11:oo am all chilis are open for public tasting.

The Adair County Benefit Committee was created in October 2001 as a way for the people of Stilwell to make donations to help with the 9/11 crisis. After that first year, the committee localized the benefit and have made donations to the local Food Pantry, bought Christmas presents for foster children, and are now working towards building a park.
