Rooks County Free Fair

An outstanding feature of the community is the Rooks County Free Fair, the Fair of Champions since 1879. Large numbers of 4-H, Open Class, and Commercial exhibits show the longstanding pride the County takes in the fair. Besides numerous exhibits, the fair features top notch entertainment, car and motorcycle races, demolition derby, and carnival rides.

Rooks County Courthouse

In 1923 a new courthouse replaced the native stone structure of 1881. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Rooks County Courthouse is a source of local pride. A permanent memorial in front of the courthouse honors individuals who served in the nation's armed services.
