Berryville

Located in the Ozark Mountains, Berryville is the ideal location for quiet living with the bonus of proximity to various activities and attractions such as country music shows, golf, Arkansas Razorback games, hunting, fishing, canoeing, hiking and more. Table Rock, Beaver, Bull Shoals and Taneycomo lakes are all 20 to 40 minutes away for camping, fishing and boating. Berryville is also the home of Carroll County Country Club which has a 9-hole golf course. Canoe and float trips are a local favorite area activity.

The city’s Civil War history and heritage is strong. During the Civil War Union soldiers camped on the town square. Most of the town was burned by both sides, although most of the brick buildings on the square were built in the 1890s. Berryville was founded in 1850 by Blackburn H. Berry from Alabama. The first settler in what is now Berryville was David Williams of Tennessee in 1831.

Be sure to visit the Saunders Museum as well as Carroll County Heritage Center for more history on the area. Nearby Cosmic Cavern provides a unique attraction for those who would like to experience the limestone wonders of the underground.

Berryville is located in Northwest Arkansas, approximately 45 miles south of Branson, Missouri and 8 miles east of the Victorian resort town of Eureka Springs. Harrison is about a 30 minute drive to the east on Ark. 62.
