The Long Branch State Park has two popular recreation trails:

Lake View Trail is a 1.5-mile trail with a compacted rock surface that leads out to a point and offers scenic views of the lake.

Little Chariton Prairie Trail is 2.7 miles long and winds through the native tallgrass prairie also providing nice views of the lake, along with good examples of flora and fauna.
