Canal Classic 5K Race/Fun Run
- Eighth annual 5K running race along the Ohio & Erie Canalway between Navarre & Massillon. Open to all ages. Race day registration begins at 7 am and closes promptly at 8:30 am to allow participants to be taken by bus to start of race. Walkers only $10, with $30 family cap. Pre-registered participants will receive a T-shirt. Co-sponsored by the Friends of Stark Parks and Nickles Bakery to benefit development of the Ohio & Erie Canalway, a national heritage area. Runner coming the farthest to compete will receive the Navarre Mayor's award. With a race course that is downhill initially and then flat and shady as the trail hugs the Tuscarawas River, we are the fastest 5K race in NE Ohio! From I-77 take Rt. 30 west to Rt. 21 South into Navarre. Turn right on Canal Street and go to the next stoplight. Registration takes place behind the Fire Station. Address: Navarre Community Center |
